What Is Digital marketing?
Digital marketing term has been all around for a long time, but hasn’t been very well defined, generally I have heard from people that search engine optimization (SEO), pay per click (PPC) and banner advertising is all what a digital marketing is!!. But then, what about RSS, email,pod-casting, blogging, voice broadcast, fax broadcast? Yet, this is too narrow of a definition even.
For starters, In simple term, If I say – digital marketing is the promotion of products or brands via one or more forms of electronic media. But then, one more question arises, that is,WHY DIGITAL MARKETING? If, their are traditional forms of marketing such as radio, TV, billboard and print ETC?
SO for this I have a very simple answer, that traditional form of marketing are no more interactive. They do not offer
- Instant feedback and report.
- There is no way to know the exact number of people who saw or heard it.
- How long the initial ad impression is made.
- Doesn’t show sales conversions.there is still a long way to go.
But with digital marketing, however, we’re already there…
Digital marketing differs from traditional marketing in that it involves the use of channels and methods that enable an organization to analyze marketing campaigns and understand
- What is working and what isn’t
- What is being viewed, how often and for how long
- Sales conversions
- What content works and doesn’t work, etc.
typically in real time consumers too can have a full track on information any time and any place they want it.
